Charlie's Lunch Board of Directors
Sam Stewart is the Director of Charlie's Lunch
Ministries. He is licensed and ordained with the Assemblies of God and
under the covering of the West Texas District of the Assemblies of God.
He is a graduate of Southeastern College in Lakeland, FL. and served in
Guatemala as a missionary for 12 years with the Division of Foreign
Missions. Previously, he served as part of the pastoral staff of
Calvary Assembly of God in Orlando, FL. Sam is the son of missionaries
Sterling and Lois Stewart and grew up on the mission field in El
Salvador, C.A. He brings expertise in cross-cultural and missiological
experience and studies. He is also the father of Charlie Stewart, the
boy whose life inspired this ministry of Charlie's Lunch.
Janey Stewart is the President of Charlie's Lunch
Ministries and the mother of Charlie Stewart. She served with her
husband Sam Stewart in Guatemala as a missionary and also brings
experience in cross-cultural living and understanding. She currently
is the Administrative Assistant/ Office manager for Charlie's Lunch
Ministry. She and Sam have 4 children; Sam Jr.(29), Charlie Stewart who went to
be with the Lord on Feb.1, 1996, Joel (22) and Jessica (19). Janey
and her husband Sam have been in full-time ministry for over 25 years.
Dr. Henry P.Dumas, M.D. has been practicing medicine for
over 30 years; 25 years in the Orlando, FL area and 5 years on the
mission field in Guatemala. Dr. Dumas was instrumental in building a
hospital in Nebaj, Guatemala and served with Missionary Ventures hosting
medical teams for his tenure in Guatemala. Dr. Dumas brings, not only
medical expertise, but missionary experience to the Charlie's Lunch
Ministries Board. Currently, Dr.Dumas is practicing medicine in
Orlando, FL. He is a pediatric specialist and works with severely
handicapped children as well as in emergency medical care.
Mr. Jeff Dokkestul has been a businessman for over 30 years. He has a heart for missions and is now the office administrator for Charlie's Lunch. Jeff brings expert advice in the financial and general business operations of Charlie's Lunch Ministries. He and his wife Kay have been involved in short-term missions teams to Central America and also have been involved in international business endeavors. They continue serving as missionaries/educators with three classical christian schools in Northern Iraq on a seasonal basis. They currently reside in Franklin, Tennessee.
Cris Green is owner operator of the Mesa Hills Location of the Great American Land & Cattle Company Restaurant. His passion for God's Work through missions has flourished with the resources that the restaurant provides. Cris has traveled to Guatemala with Charlie's Lunch several times in the past few years as well as to the Juarez sites. With over 27 years of restaurant experience, Cris brings expertise in food service and business management.
Ralph Sanchez has been a respected business manager in the El Paso area for more than 20 years and is currently the Associate Pastor at Harvest Christian Center. Ralph and Laura have participated in Charlie’s Lunch “short-term missions teams” for the last 4 years. God has used them to minister to children, pastors and their families in a powerful way. He and his wife Laura have 2 daughters, Desiree and Britney who have also accompanied them on mission’s trips and ministered to the children.
Charlie's Lunch Country Administrators
Leopoldo Valdez is the administrator for Charlie's Lunch Ministries in Guatemala and southern Mexico. Currently, he oversees 4 feeding centers in Guatemala which feed 350 children every month along with 100 volunteer cooks and 4 pastors and their families. He is an accountant for the Pan American Hotel, manager of Radio V.E.A. in Guatemala City, a professor of accounting at the University and co-founder of 2 churches in Guatemala city; Iglesia La Gracia and Iglesia Hosana. He has worked with Charlie's Lunch Ministries since it's inception and helped establish all 4 feeding centers in Guatemala and 2 in Chiapas, Mexico (which feed 100 children currently). He and his family have been involved in Charlie's Christmas since 1997; accompanying the Stewart family to distribute Christmas gifts to needy pastors and their families in December 1997 and every year following. Leopoldo also assists with short-term missions teams and is often invited to preach in churches all over Guatemala. He has a "mission's heart," compassion for the needy and demonstrates integrity in every aspect of his life.
Moises Ontoniel Ramirez Choto is the Charlie's Lunch Administrator for the country of El Salvador. He is part of the Executive Presbytery of the Assemblies of God in El Salvador and also the co-pastor of Iglesia Aposento Alto in San Salvador since 1992. He graduated in 1989 with a degree in Theology from the Central Bible Institute. He has a Master's Degree in Education and Theology, a Doctorate in Theology of Pastoral Ministries, teaches at the University since 1989 classes in Administration and Education and is the chaplain of the Christian University in El SAlvador since 1989. Recently, he had the privilege of praying for President Tony Saca (President of El Salvador) at a national celebration of the Assemblies of God in El Salvador at the local soccer stadium with more than 30,000 in attendance. He is married to his wife, Vicky Garcia who is a dentist and very involved in medical outreaches to poor communities. Moises has hosted many short-term missions teams to his country and currently oversees 2 Charlie's Lunch Feeding Centers. He and his wife Vicky have 3 children; Jose Benjamin, Sara Raquel and Rebeca Elizabeth. He truly has a heart for the poor and even though his responsibilites are many, he doesn't neglect those in need around him.
Charlie's Lunch Area Directors
Shravan Kumar, Charlie’s Lunch Director of 5 feeding centers in the southeastern part of India, recently visited the U.S. He shared how nearly 900 people attended the Charlie’s Christmas celebration! Most in attendance were Hindu hearing the message of Jesus Christ as they watched their children receive gifts, including a toy, sandals, bed linens and other necessary items and were fed a special Christmas meal. Shravan is the pastor of the Miracle Church in Kadali, India. His heart of compassion for those in need is obvious as he directs ministries to the hungry, orphans and widows , medical camps and preaches in crusades and seminars for pastors. Currently, he is involved in the Tsunami relief efforts in India and several islands near the coast. Charlie’s Lunch is helping with Tsunami relief efforts through both he and Lee Ruud, our area directors in India. He says that he is helping those whom the major relief efforts have overlooked. Lee Ruud is Charlie’s Lunch Area Director for the Hyderabad area of India. He has been a missionary in India since 1993 working with the Gospel Mission of India. He is married to Pravena and the focus of their work is with children in the slums of Hyderabad. He is involved in education, crusades, kids camps, orphanages, hosts short-term missions teams and oversees many Charlie’s Lunch Feeding centers. He is a graduate of Sierra Pacific Bible College and is originally from San Jose, California.
